Ensure That Your Kitchen Is Ready for Independence Day Fun!

July 4th is a great day. Not only is it a national holiday (woohoo!), but it’s our nation’s Independence Day, and it’s a great day to spend quality time with the family. But with so many distractions around, it can be hard to get everyone together. That’s why it’s good to have a plan for spending the 4th with family. And there are plenty of fun things that can get everyone involved, no matter how young or old. So, read on to find out ways to celebrate the 4th of July this summer!

Make Some Red, White, and Blue Treats

It’s amazing what adding a little color to the kitchen will do. But not color as in decorations, color as in food coloring! A few dollars on some red, white, and blue food coloring can go a long way on Independence Day. Well, more accurately, red and blue food coloring — white is a little bit trickier, but with a little creative flair, it’s easily done.

Making patriotic Rice Crispy Treats is always a blast. The cereal is already white, so all one needs to do is make two small batches, each with red and blue food coloring. Once they’re ready to go, one can mix them all to get small squares of each color, just like the flag! One can also do simple and fun skewers. Take some strawberries, blueberries, and marshmallows and put them on a wooden skewer. With a little creativity, one has special (somewhat) healthy treats for the 4th!

Enjoy Some Patriotic Cinema

movies

Movies are in our blood. They’re one of America’s major industries, so it’s no wonder that many people enjoy watching movies on the 4th of July. And, of course, fun treats always go hand-in-hand with movies. A little creativity can give the movie snack that 4th of July flair.

The 1996 classic Independence Day with Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum is a fun one for everyone. For a more modern 4th of July movie, the Marvel film Captain America: The First Avenger is a great choice. For history buffs, the Spielberg film Lincoln is an excellent biopic about one of the nation’s greatest presidents. But what about snacks? Well, who says microwave popcorn has to be white? With a little red and blue food coloring, it’s possible to snack on patriotic popcorn while watching any of these movies.

July 4th Cookouts

Of course, many people love to cook out on the grill on the 4th of July. And there’s nothing like a nice big meal to celebrate the nation’s independence. But there’s one thing to consider before getting started: the kitchen plumbing situation. Whether it’s an ailing garbage disposal, a clogged sink, a dying dishwasher, or a leaky faucet, it’s important to make sure the kitchen is ready to go for the 4th.

Homeowners who call a professional plumbing company before their 4th festivities find themselves with a well-functioning kitchen. No surprise clogs, no damaged dishwashers, and no leaky sinks. And having a home’s plumbing checked by a professional at least once a year is always good. So before the 4th is a great time, indeed.
